Santas' Surrey Slingfest '05
Dates: Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th of December
Location: UniSport at The University of Surrey
Times: 9:00am start - please try and arrive in time for the Captains Meeting at 9:15
Overview: A twelve team fun tournament. If you've been before you'll know what to expect except that the party venue has been changed this year to a bigger, nicer and better stocked bar. Turn up in festive fancy dress at the party and you could win a prize. Other party highpoints include an organised three pint challenge competition with one free attempt per team, the return of Dorothy the Dotball, a late licence and a bit of flashflight madness afterwards!
Cost: Unfortunately the price has gone up to £95/team this year due to the increased cost of the party venue. The Sooner you get in touch the sooner I can reserve a place for you, however a cheque guarantees the place and the earlier I get the cheques the better.
Teams already showing interest/entered are:
Surrey Scorpions 1
Surrey Scorpions 2
Rough Sleepers - Members of Brighten Open - awaiting cheque
Disconduct - Guildford Open Indoor - awaiting cheque
Scorpions X - A bunch of ex Surrey Students with something to prove! - awaiting cheque
Brighton Open 1 - awaiting cheque
Brighton Open 2 - awaiting cheque
Brighton Open 3 - awaiting cheque
How to get here:
By Road: From the M25 take junction 10 onto the A3. Follow the A3 ignoring the signposts for Guildford... Eventually you wil see signs directing you to stay on the A3 to get to the University, follow this route.
Take junction 10 off the A3. At the end of the exit road you will be at a large roundabout. The university campus is the first exit on the left, park in the first car park on the left and the sports hall is the big ivy covoured building across the road.
By Rail: Once you arrive at Guildford station (If coming from London come from Waterloo - and try to get on a fast train to save yourselves time) if you exit the station by means of the footbridge at the rear you can turn right and follow the road right to the end (It bears right halfway along) where you will come to a large roundabout, from here you should be able to see the university entrance with the cathedral on a hill to your right. Alternatively get a taxi from the station which should cost no more than a fiver.
